Who We Are
Monticello Fire Rescue (Station 11) was opened in 2001 to serve the growing need of Albemarle County in the southern potion of the county. Our name reflects our proximity to the home of Thomas Jefferson, our third President of the United States and a popular destination for visitors to our region. We carry the name of his homeland with the same pride that we exhibit in caring service we provide to those who seek our assistance.
Station 11 is the first of four stations planned for Albemarle County to be staffed by 24 hour career as well as volunteers from the community. Volunteers hold a tradition of over 100 years in providing fire protection to Albemarle County and the desire to retain their representation is at the core of the county’s mission in serving its residents and visitors.
